Seguros Múltiples makes donation on International Women’s Day

The Board of Directors of Cooperativa de Seguros Múltiples de Puerto Rico made  a donation to Casa Protegida Julia de Burgos at the International Women’s Day celebration in recognition for its arduous work during the past twenty five years.

“We believe that private enterprise, especially cooperatives, has a social responsibility with our communities and the well-being of our country”, expressed Mr. Raúl Carrero, President of the Board of Directors of the institution. “One of the most urgent problems that we face in Puerto Rico is violence against women. The whole country knows the work and trajectory of the Casa Protegida Julia de Burgos and it is an honor for us to award our humble contribution to help them in the realization of the exceptional work that they perform day after day”.

Casa Protegida Julia de Burgos is a communitarian based institution that during more than 25 years has given shelter and support to battered women and their children.  This year the institution celebrates its anniversary with an educational campaign directed toward women that suffer domestic violence,  “Flowers do not relieve the pain” together with an intensive fundraising campaign.
