Seguros Múltiples grants a donation to Cooperativa Orgánica Madre Tierra

Cooperativa de Seguros Múltiples de Puerto Rico (CSM) made a donation to Cooperativa Orgánica Madre Tierra. It consisted of a computer with accounting software that will be used to fortify the cooperative’s administrative and communications tasks.

The donation was delivered by members of Public Relations Committee of the Board of Directors of CSM, which is formed by the Board President, Mr. Raúl N. Carrero Crespo; Mr. José R.Torres Ramirez, Second Vice-President; Prof. Nancy Banrey Aponte, Secretary and Mrs. Zulma Delgado Pol, Marketing Vice-President of this property and casualty Insurance company.  On behalf of Cooperativa Orgánica Madre Tierra, the donation was acceptedby Mr. Jaime Boffil, partner, and Mrs. Marta Calero, a board member.

Cooperativa Orgánica Madre Tierra was founded in 2002 by a group of farmers whose purpose was to develop and market organic products, free of synthetic contaminants. Currently, the entity has 286 partners. Among the services offered by this cooperative which deserve special note is the organization of an organic products market which is held on two Sundays of the month at Roosevelt Plaza.  An agronomist is available to inspect farms and certify that the products are being farmed organically.

Among the current projects is the development of a store that will be at the same location as the cooperative’s office, which will permit the continuous commercialization of these organic products.
